Have you ever felt exhausted? I don’t mean just exhausted after a long hike but tired in your soul – tired of climbing uphill, tired of swimming upstream?

If you’re like me, you have. You have set your mind to do things right, to not compromise your morals for success, and now, after years of trudging, you’ve found out why people give in. It is exhausting.
Lately, I’ve felt that way. But, like you, I refuse to quit. So let’s you and I take a moment and encourage ourselves. We are Bravehearts. We do not sell our souls to gain the world. We do not have a price.

It is much easier to have never tried, but you tried. And you try. And you will try. You could have quit at the start, but you didn’t. Now you are so far from where you were. Take a moment and think about where you began. Don’t forget, in the middle of this bloody climb, what you have accomplished. Don’t negate those small victories. Don’t despise the days of your small beginnings.

You have accomplished. You have succeeded. Not only in the things you’ve made or built, but in the way you’ve done it. You have not bowed to Baal. You have not worshipped money. You have not sold your body, sold your soul, sold your family to get to the top. No one has your footprint on their neck, and you should be dang proud of that fact.

Inside of you there is a strength that the sale-out knows nothing about. One day, when you have your family surrounding you and you are sitting in the house you built, founded on solid rock, you will only look on these hard days as the final exhausting moves before the knock out. Today is your prelude to victory.

They may ride the tide of their folly for a while, but when the wind stops blowing into the fool’s sails, who will they call? They will call you. They will ask you who you are and how you got what you got. They will wonder at the love your family shares. They will gawk at the way you sleep soundly and wake with a smile.

And you will tell them, “I did not build with cards. I did not steal to have. I did not lie. I stood firm, in the midst of your mocking, and God has blessed all the work of my hard-worn hands. With these riches, there is no sorrow. Of this peace, there is no end.”

And then, with the same inner strength that brought you to this promised land, you will lower your strong hand and lift up that destitute soul. You will heal their legs and teach them to walk. You will show them how to lay bricks on stone. You will show them how to build for the future.

You see, that’s why you are tired today. You carry stones while they carry straw. Yeah, stones are heavier, but when the storms come you will only smile at the danger.

So, dear warrior, stand up straight and fear not. The money will come. The job will end. The struggle will stop. You will prevail. You are a good man. You are a good woman. You are mighty. Do not despair. Rejoice! Even if you die in the battle, know that when you wake up you will have nothing to be ashamed of. Today is short. Tomorrow is forever.

As of this moment, you have kept your soul and that means you are undefeated. And as long as that is your goal, you are undefeatable.
